A vegan woman's beef with her neighbors -- over barbecuing meat in their backyard -- was so serious that she sued them... taking the case all the way to Australia's Supreme Court, according to Nine News Australia.

The woman, Cilla Carden of Perth also demanded her neighbors stop smoking and bouncing balls in their backyard, but Carden's biggest issue is the smell of meat cooking. Fish specifically.

Carden told 9News:

They've put it there so I smell fish, all I can smell is fish. I can't enjoy my backyard, I can't go out there. It's been devastating, it's been turmoil, it's been unrest, I haven't been able to sleep.

One of Carden's neighbors showed 9News that he actually removed the barbecue from his backyard and even went as far as telling his children to stop playing basketball.

Carden told the State Administrative Tribunal and the Supreme Court that she believes the actions of her neighbors are being done on purpose.

The courts ruled in favor of her neighbors, dismissing Carden's case and refusing her request for an appeal.

Carden isn't giving up though, she says she'll keep fighting and will be back in court soon.

In response to Carden's case, a Facebook event titled "Community BBQ for Cilla Carden" was organized with the following description:

Cilla Carden has a problem with her neighbours cooking meat on their BBQ, becuase she’s a vegan. Recently taking them to the Supreme Court!
Don’t let Cilla destroy a good old Aussie tradition, join us for a community BBQ in protest of her actions, and help Cilla Carden GET SOME PORK ON HER FORK. BYO hotdog buns, p.s. NO VEGANS
***EDIT***
THIS IS A PEACEFUL PROTEST, Nobody is permitted to enter Mrs Cardens property. There will be wardens on hand to make sure this does not happen.
Instead the front yards of participating neighbours will be available for use, food trucks will be parked in participating neighbours driveways, throughout the street.

The event has more than 4,000 people who say they are attending, but upon further investigation, the event could be either a hoax, a political vegan statement, or even satire.

That's because the event is being organized by a Facebook page titled "Bailey Mason - Warrior For Animals." (Warning: the link to the page features a photo with strong language)

The most recent post on that page, dated February 17, 2019 states:

IF you want to stop animal abuse, If you want animals to be free, If you want people to stop eating meat! Then look to me! I AM YOUR SAVIOUR STAND WITH ME, AND I WILL SEE EVERY MEAT EATER WIPED FROM THIS PLANET, TOGETHER WE WILL PURGE THIS EARTH OF SCUM, AND LIBERATE ALL ANIMALS. I AM BAILEY MASON, I AM YOUR SAVIOUR!! So stand with me!

Messages to the page from 2News were not immediately returned, so it's unclear the exact purpose of the proposed community barbecue, which is scheduled for October 19.
